TRACK & FIELD

Mariner competed at Lake Stevens High School in the Wesco-Kingco Bi-District Championship on May 18, 20, and 21.

State Qualifiers from Mariner High School:

– Jaquan Means (JR) – 110-meter hurdles: 3rd place, 15.33 seconds, 100-meter dash: 5th place, 11.36 seconds, 300-meter hurdles: 2nd place, 40.28 seconds.

– Un Wally (SR) – 110-meter hurdles: 5th place, 15.52 seconds, 300-meter hurdles: 3rd place, 40.53 seconds.

– Eric Bang (SR) – Pole Vault: 4th place, 11′ 6″.

– Calvin Gutierrez (SO) – Shot Put: 4th place, 47′ 2″.

– Tegan Ramey (SO) – Triple Jump: 2nd place, 33′ 3.25″.

– Angela Rodriguez-Frias (JR) – Long Jump: 5th place, 15′ 8″.

– Mariner’s 4/100-meter relay team – William Tuju (JR), Wally, Ahmed Al-Kheyat (SR), Jaquan Means (JR): 3rd place, 43.57 seconds.

– Mariner’s 4/100-meter relay team – Jolyn Ngobi (SO), A’Mya Knighten (SO), Zakiya Nunez (JR), Rodriguez-Frias: 4th place, 50.79 seconds.

Dominic Cruz-Estrada (SR) laced up his spikes one last time to run the third leg of Mariner’s 4/400-meter relay team. State Meet:

Mariner qualified two vans worth of athletes to the state meet! Finals appearances from the Marauders include:

Jaquan Means – 300-meter hurdles, 110-meter hurdles:

– 7th place, 41.67 seconds

– 8th place, 15.89 seconds

Angela Rodriguez-Frias – Long Jump:

– 7th place, 16′ 9.25″

Tegan Ramey – Triple Jump:

– 13th place, 31′ 7.25″

GIRLS TENNIS

Doubles 1, consisting of Elora Kim (SR) and Jasmine Nguyen (SR), placed 4th at the Wesco 4A District Championships. After losing in the first round to Kamiak High School, Mariner played well in the second bracket and ended their postseason run with a win against Jackson High School.
