TRACK & FIELD

First place was Mariner’s favorite place in the dual meet against Jackson High School at Everett Memorial Stadium on March 24.

For the boys, Jaquan Means (JR) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.44 seconds, Un Wally (SR) took first in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.22 seconds, Dominic Cruz-Estrada (SR) placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.38 minutes, Julian Nelson-Sellers (SR) came in first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:51.50 minutes, and Calvin Gutierrez (SO) threw 40′ 2″ in the shot put for first place. The Marauders also had first-place 4/100 and 4/400-meter relay teams.

For the girls, Angela Rodriguez-Frias (JR) took first place twice, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.76 seconds and the long jump with a 13′ 6.5″ jump. Anna Camara (JR) also placed first in two events, throwing 30′ 4.75″ in the shot put and 98′ 3″ in the discus. Tegan Ramey (SO) came in first place with a 30′ 11″ triple jump. A’Mya Knighten (SO) came in first for the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.28 minutes. Ava Rudberg (SR) made a 90′ 9″ throw to take first in the javelin. The Marauders’ 4/200 and 4/400-meter relay teams also took first place.

Mariner Track & Field will compete against Cascade High School and Glacier Peak High School at home on March 31.

SOFTBALL

Varsity beat Mount Vernon High School 11-1 on March 28. Jaden Gagucas (SR) led the team in scoring with three runs made. Alexis Slater (SR) threw 14 strikeouts. Softball will play away from home against Meadowdale High School on March 30.

SOCCER

Varsity tied with Woodinville High School on March 23. Amadou Jadama (SR) scored a late goal to help the team come back from behind. They will play Kamiak High School away from home on April 1.

BASEBALL

Varsity beat Henry M. Jackson High School 11-10 on March 24. They will play Lynden High School on March 30.

GIRLS TENNIS

Varsity lost to Lake Stevens High School 5-2 on March 29. Elora Kim (SR) beat her opponent 6-1 and 6-0, while Jasmine Nguyen (SR) beat her opponent 7-6 and 6-2. Girls Tennis will play against Meadowdale High School on March 31.
