This week’s talent spotlight is Solanlly Sanchez-Solorio!

She is a Freshmen at Mariner and started to draw at a young age, her favorite art style is realism, semi-realism, and black & white, but got serious with semi-realism art in 2019, about 3 years ago. This piece is inspired by a character from Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure named Giorno Giovanna and took about 2 – 3 days to create. A lot of her other inspirations are from other artists, one of the people that inspired her is @rzenami on Tiktok who draws mostly characters who are also from Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure.

“It (Art) looks really pretty, and seeing other people’s art gives me a boost of motivation to make more of it,” Sanchez-Solorio says.

Realism art got a lot of attention around the mid-19th century in mainly France, it usually captures events happening in the moment and rarely uses supernatural elements or fiction, it can also mean paintings that are realistic or almost photographic by the way they’re painted.

Sollanly continues to make realism art and hopes to improve more in the future!
