Michael Huynh makes the art for this week’s artist spotlight!

He is a Sophomore in Mariner and started to create art and drawings when he was 8 years old, so about 6-7 years. His painting, which is called Weeping Willow, is inspired by the song Weeping Willow made by the pop group Mild High Club created on May 9th of 2016.

“It took about 1 month to make off and on,” Huynh says. Michael started to paint because he was inspired by the tv sensation Bob Ross, which got him more into painting leading to the art style impressionism.

Impressionism is an art movement made to capture a feeling, it was originated in France in the 1860s, and started to gain popularity around 10 years later. ” I realized I didn’t like drawing very much, so I started to watch things like Bob Ross to get me inspired, and currently I’m creating more impressionism movement art,” Huynh says.

Michael hopes to continue and advance in art like impressionism to share with others and continues to make inspirational scenic art!
