Girls Discover STEM Event This Weekend

This upcoming weekend, Saturday the 30th, the Girls Discover STEM registration opens. The event begins from 9:00 AM to 1;45 PM at the Washington State University in Everett. The cost is free! The event’s intention is to raise interest in STEM and engineering amongst younger girls.

This event is the perfect occasion for girls to take a stroll through the local engineering opportunities they have. The girls get to experience hands-on science-specific activities that will hopefully spark an interest! WSU students will be available as mentors. Not only that, but a pizza lunch will be offered to registered participants. It is important to consider that there are only 50 spots to be filled in registration. Although the event is free, participants must pre-register to maintain limited capacity within the event. Girls, if you’re interested, take some time to sign up!

With that being said, WSU will take the necessary COVID precautions. All mentors and participants will be required to wear facial coverings, regardless of vaccination status. This way, all will have an equal opportunity to have fun and feel safe!
