Boys Varsity Football lost to Lake Stevens High School 7-56 on October 8. The Mariner offense gained a total of 120 yards, passing for 70 and rushing for 50. Offensive highlights included a 10-yard touchdown pass by quarterback Damien Bagley (JR) to slot-receiver Macky James (JR) and a 31-yard pass by Bagley to wide receiver Brandon Rutledge (JR).

On the defense, Macky James intercepted a pass and returned it for 24 yards. Maxim Savchuk (SR) made 3 tackles.

Varsity Football will play Kamiak High School on Tuesday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.

 

Girls Varsity Volleyball played Lake Stevens High School on October 4, losing 0-3. Sets 1 and 2 were won by Lake Stevens 8-25 and 7-25.

Mariner came back strong in Set 3, with Blythe Gorman (JR), Ava Rudberg (SR), and Jaden Gagucas (SR) each scoring an ace. Sydney Clarke (SO) and Leila Mbaye (SR) got two blocks each. The Marauders fought hard but lost the third set 17-25.

Volleyball has 3 matches this week against Kamiak on October 11, Granite Falls on October 12, and Glacier Peak on October 14.

 

Boys Tennis played Monroe High School on October 11, losing by a score of 2-5, getting two wins in Singles. Joseph Na (SO) won his sets 6-0 and 6-4, and Itzack Tambanua (JR) won his sets 6-3 and 6-0.

Boys Tennis will play Lynnwood High School on October 13.

 

Girls Varsity Soccer played Nathan Hale High School on October 7 and lost 2-0. This week, they will play two matches against Kamiak on October 12 and Glacier Peak on October 14.

 

Cross Country competed in Nike’s 14th Annual Twilight Invitational on October 2. Matthew Meisner (SR) ran an 18:09.10 5K in the Varsity 3A/4A race and placed 110th. Daniel Bayles (FR) and Aaron Ton (SO) raced in the JV Freshman/Sophmore race, with Bayles coming in 114th place with a time of 20:15.40, and Ton finished in 16th place with a time of 18:37.50.

Jasmine Jarmamillo Cruz (SR) placed 24th in the JV Junior/Senior race for the girls, running 23:06.80 and Xitlalli Salinas-Lopez (SO) placed 18th in the JV Freshman/Sophmore race coming in at 23:31.60.

On October 9th, Julian Nelson Sellers placed 58th in the Bill Kehoe South Sound Invitational Purple Elite race, running a 17:51.90 5K.

Mariner Cross Country will run in the Everett-Mukilteo Championships on October 14.
