Safety first: Covid Safe Summer Activities

Jasmine Seanoa, Staff

Summer is coming, but sadly we can’t do things we used to do because of Covid-19, for example, have a nice family barbecue, mask-free. We can’t go to Boom City for the fourth of July; that was one of my favorite things to do. There is a solution to this problem. I’m going to all the hard work for you, and I will┬áresearch things to do over the summer that are Covid safe.
The first thing, you could go for a hike. Fresh air is good for you. This can be fun because you can bond with a family member or members. You get exercise and also can see beautiful scenery. My favorite part about hiking is when I reach the top, I feel so accomplished, and you can too.
The second thing you could do that is Covid safe is have a picnic in your backyard. Obviously, with your household family, but I think this could be fun, I have never done this before, but I would be glad to try it. You don’t need to wear a mask because you are already exposed to them every day. This activity will give you time to bond with your family and eat some good food.
The third thing you could do is have a movie night with your family. This is fun because, again, you
can bond with your family and eat snacks, such as popcorn, and candy, while watching a good movie. I recommend A movie called Without Remorse; it’s so good.
The last thing you could do is start a book club with your family. This is fun because you can get your summer reading out of the way while spending time with your family. You can read lots of good books, such as The Divergent Books series or The Fault in Our Stars.
