Drama Club

Drama Club is a club hosted by Mrs. Lemker. The club has been long-standing at Mariner, and this is Mrs. Lemker’s first year in the position. She believes that it is vital for kids who are interested in Drama to be apart of it. The later on in students’ lives, they might be interested in wanting to be apart of a Play Production, “So the activity and games we do here really build Ensemble, and the skills they need to become actors.”

You should join the club because most of the skills that are being taught aren’t just for drama club itself, “Drama Club is about creativity and thinking fast on your feet. It’s a fun way, and its also a safe place for people to come and be themselves and meet people with the same interests,” Lemker added.

The Club’s main focus is on theater sports known as “Improv,”  and it’s a series of team-building games where you’re focus is being in the moment and “creating something out of nothing, takes a lot of concentration, trust, and creativity.”

Lemker encourages you to join the club because it is a lot of fun, and you get to play. “It’s just playing, and we don’t really get to play after grade school; we kinda lose that, so its a chance to play and have fun.”

Be sure to put yourself out there and take risks. If you decide to join the club, the club meets every other Wednesday in The Little Theater from 2:00 to 2:35 pm
