Mariner Student wins Graphic Arts Award

Adviser

Karen Labra is currently a Junior at Mariner High School.  The current  Vice- President of the Graphic Society/FBLA Club, placed 3rd for her entry in the 2019 Seattle International Auto Show Poster Competition. With this winning entry, Labra received a $250 Bright Future Scholarship, and her poster will be displayed throughout the SIAS event at Century Link Field Event Center November 14-17.

Labra spent countless hours working on this project after school during club meetings.  That wasn’t all though, because the only access Labra had to the necessary program was at school, she spent several days after school on her own to complete the poster.  Her perseverance and dedication to the project are what Mariner students are all about. Her current advisor, Stephanie Casino, said that she is so proud of her placing in this competition.

The submitted posters were judged by representatives of Seattle advertising and marketing firm GreenRubino.
